Difficult to Garden in December

Well, it's December and I have a four-month old. Difficult to garden. Plus, my kitchen windows face east and north, and the east window is partially obscured by the neighbor's tree, so I'm not sure that the kitchen herbs I want to plant and put on little shelves in front of the east window would even grow. But it sure makes a kitchen look righter. Must have fresh herbs.

Marigold, dear daughter, is going to have to be my main gardening project this winter anyway. And she's sooo darling. Last weekend we took her to see Santa, only it was Celtic Santa, which means it was Santa in a kilt. What a darling man. And because he was in an out of the way, off the beaten path sort of place, we waltzed right in and set her right down on his kilted knee. She wasn't so sure what to make of him--she was in a middling mood, so she didn't cry or scream, but it was hard coaxing a smile out of her for us to preserve for posterity (and her when she's bigger), and even when we did, our new digital camera has such a delay that we could never quite capture it. Sigh. Ah well.

Apollo has been gone since Sunday morning on a business trip. I am so ready for him to be home. He was supposed to come home earlier today, but when his plane arrived, he discovered that he had to go into work to put out a fire. (That's what happens when you're a sun god.) So now I'm just waiting. Waiting. Waiting, sweetheart. And diapering and feeding and... blogging on the blog that I set up years ago and just started today. Better late than never.
